Who’s behind PinSide?
PinSide was started by Mike, an avid golfer based in Northern Virginia. After one too many great shots with no way to prove they happened, he realized there was no easy way to actually capture the moments that keep golfers coming back to the game. That idea turned into PinSide: cameras, real editorial review, and a business built around what sponsors actually want, a way to combine a better experience for golfers with a real business model for the sponsors and courses who want to reach them.
Do golfers need to download an app?
No. Golfers scan a QR code or tap their phone at the tee, opt in with their phone number, hit their shot, and receive their personalized clip by text. No app or account required.
Does the course need Wi‑Fi?
No. PinSide's cameras run on battery power and record independently, so there's no dependence on clubhouse Wi-Fi or venue infrastructure. Footage is retrieved and processed after the round.
Where do you set up the camera?
We typically place the camera at a par 3 tee box where golfers are already focused on a memorable shot. We’ll coordinate placement with the event team before the round.
Can sponsor branding appear on each clip?
Yes. Each delivered video can include sponsor branding so the logo travels with every watch, share, and post after the event.
What types of events is this best for?

What happens to a golfer’s phone number?

What if it rains or the weather turns?
Our equipment is built for the outdoors and functions in rain or shine. If conditions become unsafe for the event itself, we coordinate directly with your team on next steps.
