  • Name, if you provide one at check-in or opt-in

Information collected automatically

  • Video footage of you captured by PinSide cameras at designated tee boxes, including your image, likeness, and swing

  • Timestamp data from your QR code scan or NFC tap, used to match footage to your opt-in

  • Basic website usage data if you visit pinside.golf, such as pages visited and general device or browser information, collected through standard website analytics tools

We do not use facial recognition or automated computer vision to identify golfers. Matching footage to a person is done using the timestamp of your QR code scan or NFC tap, combined with human review.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Match captured footage to the correct golfer

  • Edit and deliver your personalized video clip via SMS or email

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service

  • Communicate with you about your clip or the Service

  • Fulfill our obligations to event organizers and sponsors

  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With sponsors, in the form of the final edited clip, which may include sponsor branding. Sponsors do not receive your raw contact information (phone number or email) unless you separately consent to that.

  • With service providers who help us operate the Service, such as SMS delivery providers (e.g., Twilio), automation tools, and video editing software. These providers are only given the information needed to perform their function.

  • With event organizers or golf courses, on a limited basis, such as confirming participation numbers, but not your personal contact information unless required for the event.

4. SMS Communications

If you opt in to receive a text message from PinSide, your phone number is used solely to deliver your video clip and related communications. We do not share your phone number with sponsors or third parties for their own marketing purposes. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or request help by replying HELP.

5. Video Footage Retention and Use

Raw footage captured at events is retained by PinSide for internal editing and quality purposes. We may also use raw footage or clips (including footage in which you appear) for PinSide's own marketing and promotional purposes, as described in our Terms and Conditions, unless you contact us to opt out of that use.

We retain footage for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes, after which it may be deleted or archived at our discretion.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, including limiting access to footage and contact information to those who need it to operate the Service. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service may capture footage of minors participating in golf events. We do not knowingly collect phone numbers or email addresses directly from children under 13 without parental involvement.
